I am choosing to work with Alcyone — the brightest star in the Pleiades and the eldest sister of the star cluster. Alcyone’s mythical essence is one of weeping, vision, and being transformed by the power of her grief. As a star of culmination in my own chart, I feel Alcyone holds a key for me as I move into the next stage of my life. 

A long-time student of astrology, I am interested in the places where lived experience and myth interconnect – where personal stories reverberate archetypal stories. There is deep, enduring medicine in myth, and I am curious about how that medicine can be applied to our own personal becomings.

How does our grief transform us? What do we find after weeping and waiting? How does our relationship with the divine alter the course of our lives?

Through the hybrid space of memoir and prose, I will explore these inquiries on how weeping and waiting can be transmuted into sources of meaning, clarity, and freedom.
