Egypt is sacred. Something deeply expansive awakened within me. I felt as if my heart had completely opened, with a heightened sensitivity, as though everything had widened.

This film began as a collaboration with other artists during our residency, sharing an experience filled with moments of synchronicity and a sense of presence that remains imprinted in me. I later returned to the footage and allowed it to transform through my own experience of the journey.

My perception shifted and something connected with me directly through the land. Everything became more alive, more present, the boundary between who I am and what I was experiencing dissolving.

The video is built as a translation of that state, where the line between the earthly and the transcendental becomes thinner, and where the land is not only something observed, but something that communicates.

Within this experience, Alhena came into focus as one of my stars in culmination: a moment of contact where the celestial descends into the tangible and the invisible becomes embodied, where inner and outer experience align.

This is the essence of the work: a heightened perception of the sacred where the body becomes fully receptive and what was invisible takes form. A threshold between earth and spirit, held open.

APERTURE emerges from this experience of openness and reception, giving form to something perceived beyond language. It holds the trace of that encounter as an ongoing state.
