The fixed star Fomalhaut is the point in which the Pisces fish drinks from the waters of Aquarius. At this point of contact, there are some questions:What could be a vision for the future? Is there a fantasy, an alternate reality that can lead us?

Instinctually, I was drawn to the belly, a muse I continue to revisit and linger on. The tender soft pouch, holding shame, fear, pleasure also seems to be the apex of fantasy, vision and imagining the beyond. Is it not the place that holds our guts, our eggs, the place that we alchemize matter? This idea intrigued me...can an alternate reality be softer, more tender, more in touch with the movement of our instinct? This felt alive with fantasy.

In a world stricken with nuclear threat and genocide, of toxic rigidity- the antidote emerges. The softest part of our belly, the way it ripples, folds, stretches...endlessly tender as it shivers with sensitivity to the slightest touch, is the very vision I explore.

The sculptures I have created speak to the core and belly of a sensual body, the location of many waters and the pinnacle of intuition. The material of ceramic and bronze, indirect contrast to water, both go through powerful transformations; molding, soaking, drying, hardening, melting, changing color, changing texture- and still, remaining soft.
